Innovative Scholars seeks an Instructional Coach for Title I Intervention Services. The Instructional Coach is responsible for coaching, mentoring, and supporting Title I Intervention Specialists (remedial literacy and math instructors). This consultant will work with teachers on-site at schools in Chicago at each school to ensure communication with each school’s classroom teachers and administration, support data collection and entry by Intervention Specialists, support development of lesson plans, and evaluate Intervention Specialist performance. This individual will have experience as a classroom teacher and with education system management. Job Responsibilities: Instructional Coach Work directly with Intervention Specialists (teachers) in Title I schools to implement Innovative Scholars’ literacy and math curricula. Review data on each Intervention Specialist’s performance, and incorporate the outcomes expressed by the data into Specialists work plan. Be hands-on in each school in support of each Intervention Specialist. Meet every other week with each Intervention Specialists to ensure completion of required compliance reporting, support lesson planning, provide mentoring and coaching, and to help each Specialist problem solve. Facilitate a monthly “2 Way Communication” meeting with school staff and Intervention Specialists at each school. Collaborate with the Intervention Specialists to analyze quarterly student progress reports, review quarterly student lesson plans, and to conduct twice a year goal setting sessions for each student. Collaborate with the Innovative Scholars Midwest Regional Director to conduct annual evaluations of Intervention Specialists and to prepare a program evaluation. Requirements Minimum of 5 years experience in elementary school teaching, with a strong background in intervention education. Experience working with English Language Learners and/or Special Education students. (preferred) Minimum of a B.A. degree in Education. Masters Degree in Education and/ or subject matter endorsements are a plus. Administrative or teacher leader experience in an elementary school setting. Strong technology background, including experience with online curriculum and assessment systems. Familiarity with Google Drive is a plus. Experience with Personalized Learning and blended learning environments. Must have an automobile.
